HANGOVER OF BRITISH RAJ

Natural reflection of one of the gate of the Raj Bhavan (Governor House) on Hindustan Motor showroom. During the British Raj it was official residence of Governor General - Load Wellesley

Calcutta was a British creation. They founded it, occupied it, build it, regulated it and used its people

European style Neo-classical architectural buildings -  Governors House, clubs, government offices, churches and museum reflect their colonial antecedents

Even post-independence effort has not been able to entirely obliterate the mark
left by the British Raj. Companies still use the word 'Imperial' in their names
and streets like Shakespeare Sarani, Middleton Row, Russel Street and
many more reminds us of British presence
