Early morning at Howrah bridge, Kolkata
The
river, which gave Calcutta its birth, is the Hooghly of British,
the Gonga
of Bengali. From dawn to dusk the bridge over the river takes birds
view of vibrant activities below
Early morning nearby wholesale coconut, flower market and
wholesale 'Posta' market gets bustles with activities. Each morning begins with
purification, rituals, exciting workout and wrestling in the
'Gonga mati' (soil of the river Ganga) by the side of the river. Woman drying their
saris
and the ferry transporting people to the city provide some magic moments along with pungent smell of
spices and eye burning smoke of industrial waste
