Most
of us would view the work of blind photographer in context of their
limitation of sight rather than in the content of their work. Some would be perplex by the
idea
and some would rate the work as snapshots captured with high element
of luck
The
experience of being a blind photographer is a small slice of the bigger
experience of being a blind human. Photographic work of blind is the
reunion of both the experiences and that make the work thoughtfully
different from the visual world we know

by the blind is a photograph of the blind, created by touch, sound,
feel of heat, visual memories of sight and cognitive references,
without
taking sight for granted
Vision

visual realities around us, free from the falsehood of training, away from the influence of visual history and modern visual
culture, away from conscious struggle for
control and away from formalistic rules of perfection
The
experience of sight is structurally idiotic, we end up seeing what we
are
trained to see, what we want to see, rather than the whole world which

unseen before us. The seeing is profoundly blind, and sighted

at times are perhaps the blindest of all; a sighted photographer has
learned to control the appropriate subject, the best angle, the
correct composition and the right moment
Interestingly
the process of sighted companions describing places in great details to blind
photographers make the sighted see things they wouldn’t see otherwise.
A reciprocal process that visually enrich each other, other’s
world
Many
works of photography are created by unique collaboration (or battle)
between photographer’s luck (present at right place at right time) and
ability to make most it. Element of luck cannot be applied strictly in the
same context to the blind photo- graphers, they do have high ratio of
‘hits and misses’, it’s like casting fishing
net and pulling it up to discover what one had caught. None for days and
one
day the unexpected, the uncontrolled, the amazing picture is caught
Photographs
taken by blind gain power and tension from the inclusive disorder
distinctly away from the perfectly ordered photographs by the sighted
and
the power of expressing visually of being blind makes the
photographs
even more different from the photographs by the sighted
Disarray
wonder and surrealistic paradox reflected in the work of blind
photographer is much truer to photography and to life. Brings us to
an unknown artful or artless destination by creating a new way of
looking at the world with the closed eyes
